When I was cosplaying a lot, I like to try and alternate big, labour-intensive costumes with more simple, closet ones. Gold Coast Supanova in April always sneaks up on me, so it was usually the con for playing around with costumes built around a few simple outfit pieces and this Cinderella house dress costume was one of these.
When I posted about budget cosplay a few months ago, I mentioned I wasn’t really doing any new costumes. And yet here I am, debuting photos of a new costume (insert o_0 emoji here). Before anyone jumps on me for lying, I promise you, I’m still saving!
Every year I forget about the annual Mary Poppins Festival in Maryborough until I see the Nanny Races on the news, and then spend a month singing the songs, being disappointed that I forgot, and feeling nostalgic about the thousands of times my sister and I watched the movie as kids.
If you follow my Facebook page, you may have already seen that I’m taking a little step back from cosplay for a while so I can budget and save for big, real life things. This doesn’t mean I’ll stop cosplaying altogether; I think it’s a good opportunity to re-wear and make adjustments to some older costumes.
